Ever since I purchased this domain, I’ve had ambitions of showcasing my photography, creating a work portfolio, or hosting a blog like this. The years slip by though as they tend to do, and despite buying even more domains that remain yet unused (tim.camera coming soon) I’ve never materialized more than a basic landing page.
I’ve stopped using most forms of social media, but have recently been inspired by the growing Fediverse projects and protocols which offer a decentralized alternative to the major platforms myself and many others have become increasingly disillusioned with. Similar spiritually aligned initiatives like the IndieWeb championed by individuals such as Henry Desroches in his blog post, “A website to destroy all websites”, have motivated me to dust off this domain and join a growing body of people seeking to reclaim the spark of early internet discovery and community I’m increasingly nostalgic for.
With 2025 coming to a close and New Years resolutions top of mind, I made a commitment to myself to pursue more personal projects and explorations this year in whatever form those may take. Documenting these in a personal website blog seems as good as vehicle as any to hold me accountable and join this growing community of folks trying to reshape the internet. So, my goal this year is at least one post here a month. I make no promise as to the quality, consistency, or theme of this content, only to write about whatever interests, excites, amuses, or challenges me. With any luck this exercise will not only make me more well-rounded in my professional life, but my personal one as well. With that, in typical procrastinating fashion, I’ve gotten my first monthly blog post complete in, quite literally, the 11th hour of the last day of the month. Stay tuned for more.
